What to Expect
You may hear from us a little less during this phase, but don’t worry! It’s just because we’re adding your manuscript into layout, where it begins to look as it will in print. We’ll also meet during this phase to discuss the digital proof and marketing.
What We’ll Be Doing
Once you’ve approved your manuscript, we’ll add it to layout in InDesign with all of the design elements and illustrations. Then we’ll produce a digital proof to:
- Complete a QC (quality control), then upload and perform initial checks on our distributor platforms
- Send to your Early Reviewers, with our Early Reviewer Guide instructions
- Review as part of our Editorial Round 6: Final Roundtable Review
- Share with you for your feedback for Editorial Round 7: Author Sign Off
- Order print proofs
What We’ll Need from You
If you’re planning to be part of any events, please remember that we need advance notice about bulk orders of books or merchandise. For more about ordering books and bulk discounts available, see Ordering Books
- Meet with us to discuss:
- The digital proof
- Early reviewers
- Any changes to the marketing plan
- Choose some favorite sections of the book to include in the newsletter
What’s Next
- You’ll sign an Approval for Publication
- We’ll send a PDF and instructions for early reviewers, schedule launch posts, and upload files to distributor platforms
