Author Marketing Guide

Introduction

How2Conquer has put together this guide to help our authors get involved with us in promoting and marketing their books. Engagement is indispensable in this endeavor, whether online or in person, because it helps authors connect to their readers and have a more personalized campaign.

But isn’t it your job to market my book?

Yes! We will be doing everything we can to make your book as successful as possible. Some of our tasks include:

  • Organizing the Early Reviewers campaign
  • Developing marketing collateral
  • Managing your metadata and author profiles/product pages for various retailers
  • Scheduling social media posts and ads via How2Conquer’s platforms
  • Planning sales promotions

Nevertheless, if you intend to use your book to help build your brand, you should be involved in marketing it as well. This is an opportunity to share your expertise and develop a platform.

Partnering with Our Authors

We view marketing as a partnership. Objectively, if your book does well, it helps develop your platform and our publishing imprint; if we do our job well, and you develop your platform, your book will do well.

But publishing a book is not just down to measurements of success. You are publishing a book because you have something to say; you have expertise that will benefit someone. Marketing is all about helping your audience find you so you can share it.

Your expertise extends beyond what you know, encompassing both who you know and what existing platforms you’re familiar with, all of which could help promote your book. In partnering with us, you can provide this valuable information to enhance our marketing campaigns. While we strategically plan promotions and maintain visibility on White Deer Publishing’s networks, your voice is what your audience wants to hear. If they like what you say – in events, articles, blog posts, online comments, etc. – they’ll want to know more.
